On Tuesday, 16 September 2025, the 4th-year history seminar students took part in a history excursion to the BS-8 Bunker. The bunker is part of the Petržalka fortifications built in the First Czechoslovak Republic between 1935 and 1938. Several years ago, volunteers from the civic association Save the Petržalka Bunkers uncovered it, restored it, and opened it to the public as an experiential museum. During our visit, we learned about the life of soldiers in the bunker and about the strategic importance and tactical possibilities of this and other Czechoslovak bunkers after the Munich Agreement and during the war. In addition to the knowledge gained and new experiences, we also walked through this more distant part of Petržalka and saw both the cemetery of soldiers who fell during the First World War and a replica of what the border area looked like during socialism.
