- How to write junior thesis
A consultant is bound to agree with a student, meet him in person and provide him with a consultancy within 15 minutes once a month. During an academic year, there will be 5 consultations (since September 2nd 2015 until January 31st 2015 and they will be evaluated within 0 – 6 points, altogether 30 points. The running of consultation:
- 1 After arrival, the student registers into the consultant´s form
- 2 The consultant takes over the student´s tasks given during the last consultation. Each task is registered and handed in along with the signed copy
- 3 The consultant evaluates the work of the student within a scale of 0 – 6 points + percentage
- 4 The consultant assigns tasks to the student for the next month, issues he or she is supposed to prepare for discussion, sources to be used, where to find them, how to work with literature etc.
- 5 In the course of 4 months, the student should prepare the material to draw from. The last consultation is focussed on the correct way of writing thesis, e.g. type of fount, how to work with Word, numbering of pages, the front page etc.
- 6 All information about junior thesis are specified on the school web site since September 10th.
Attendance of the student during the consultations is compulsory. In case of absence, the student is obliged to substitute the consultation in other pre-determined term with the consultant. If the student does not do so, he does not have to be allowed to render the final discussion which can lead to worstening of final grade in the subject even down in two steps.
Consultant/Opponent evaluates the junior thesis according to formal and contentual viewpoints in the scale of 20 points. The formal viewpoint evaluation entails the overall composition of the work, the quality of bibliographical literature, the correctness of bibliografical references, working-out of attachments, language accuracy and stylistics.
Consultant/oponent evaluates:- 1 Composition of work
- 2 Quality of bibliographical literature; there must not be used only Internet source, we reccomend 50% of a book source to be used
- 3 Accuracy of bibliographical references
- 4 Working-out of thesis´ attachments
- 5 Language accuracy and stylistics
The contentual viewpoint evaluates the fulfillment of the assigned work, the capability to work with information and sources of information, the originality of work, the ability to extract own conclusions.
Consultant/Opponent evaluates:- 1 Fulfillment of assigned task
- 2 The capability to work with information and sources of information – Professional literature
- 3 The originality of work
- 4 The ability to extract own conclusions.
- 5 The appreciation of the goal achievement of the task
Consultan/Opponent uses the scale of 10 points (see above), each point within ranging 02, alltogether 20 points. In case of finding out and proving plagiarism, the student is given 0/20 points from both teachers.Points achieved by consultations during terms are kept for students but they are not admitted to defend their junior thesis.
