Our pupils (Jakub Blaho, Radovan Vachálek, Erik Kurt Makarov, Silvia Kamenárová) from high school attended, under the supervision of Mr. Hudák, the Slovak Chess Championship in groups of 4 on Wednesday 7th of February 2024. There were 7 rounds in total and both players got 10 minutes on the clock, with the addition of 5 second bonuses with every move. This seemingly tedious task was carried out in honourable fashion as we finished 13th out of 26 teams. The second big success, as described by the pupil himself-Radovan Vachálek-was that he finished as the 2nd best player at the 2nd chessboard.
