Holocaust, fascism, antisemitism, hate speech (also on the Internet) and active citizenship.

On Friday 4/12/2020 students of classes 4.B and 4.D took part in a workshop - structured dialogue on the topic of Holocaust, fascism, antisemitism, hate speech (also on the Internet) and active citizenship. The aim is to shift the thinking of the participants towards intercultural dialogue, awareness of active citizenship and the necessity to participate in civic society.

 

This workshop should last 2 hours in English and some of the speakers involved include Marek Mach from Youth against Fascism, Sandra Sviteková from Dejepis inak, policy makers from the Office of the Ombudsman or a European institution, Sandra Polovková from Post Bellum and a representative from the Holocaust Museum in Sereď.

 

The workshop is organized by the youth initiative Youth for Equality and is a part of international project Remember Holocaust - Building bridges for a common future, with participants from countries including Greece, Poland, Germany and Slovakia. Through its activities the project is trying to raise awareness of memory, values of the European Union such as solidarity, tolerance and peace and also awareness of the importance of civic participation and international cooperation.
